Palisadoes Shoreline Protection and Rehabilitation Works
The Palisadoes road leads from the Norman Manley International Airport into Kingston. It has a history of repeated damage by hurricanes and tropical storms. The worst onslaught occurred during the passage of Hurricane Ivan in September 2004, and Dean in August 2007.
The project will include the widening and raising of the road between the roundabout before reaching the airport and that at Harbour View. The work will also include rock revetment works, the building of a boardwalk and the underground installation of electrical wiring.
